8 DAYS EXPEDITION TO JADE SEA ( LAKE TURKANA) VIA CHALBI DESERT (Enquire)
Day 1: Nairobi/Samburu
You will be picked from your hotel and depart for Nanyuki with a stop over at the Equator before you proceed to Isiolo and continue to Samburu Game Reserve. You will arrive in time for lunch at Campsite followed by afternoon game drive in search of Beisa’s Oryx, Gerenuk, Grevy’s Zebra, Lion, Reticulated Giraffe, elephant not forgetting different species of birds then return to campsite to wait for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Samburu
Early morning game drive followed by breakfast. Optional visit to Samburu cultural village or game drive followed by lunch. Late afternoon proceed for another game drive then return to campsite to wait for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Samburu/Marsabit
After breakfast we leave Samburu and head further north along the Trans-African highway to Marsabit, which is an extinct volcano heavily forested on its upper slopes. After setting up camp, we will visit the lodge inside the National park. You may see Elephant, Buffalo and the Greater Kudu as the lodge is situated on the edge of a water filled crater. All meals served followed by overnight at campsite
Day 4: Marsabit/Kalacha
This day we will visit Marsabit town and another volcanic crater before making our way back into the desert and lava flows and proceed to our campsite at Kalacha which is a small settlement on the edge of Chalbi desert.
Day 5: Kalacha/Lake Turkana
Early morning we depart crossing the Chalbi Desert if weather permits otherwise we use alternative route to campsite near Loiyangalani arriving in time for lunch. All meals served followed by dinner and overnight at campsite.
Day 6: Lake Turkana
After breakfast day spent at leisure relaxing and bathing only interrupted by a short optional boat excursion to visit the surrounding areas. In addition, we visit Loiyangalani and the community settled there, and in the evening there is an option of visiting one of the Turkana Manyattas for traditional dances under a star studded sky. All meals served followed by dinner and overnight at campsite.
Day 7: Lake Turkana/Maralal
After breakfast we continue with our journey via South Horr and Baragoi to Maralal, another forested area. You will also see the Samburu people with their red-ochre. All meals served followed by overnight at campsite
Day 8: Maralal/Nairobi
After breakfast continue with your safari further south via Laikipia plains and Nyahururu where you will have a stopover to admire the scenic beauty at the Thomson’s Falls before you continue with your safari either back to Nairobi or continue to other parks via Lake Nakuru.
10 DAYS JADE SEA (LAKE TURKANA) EXPEDITION (Enquire)
Day 1: Nairobi/Lake Nakuru
You will be picked from your hotel and depart for Lake Nakuru with a stopover at the Great Rift Valley to admire the scenic beauty of the escarpment then continue with your safari arriving in time for game drive where you will have a chance to see Rhino, waterbuck, giraffe, buffalo, zebra and not forgetting the flamingos at the shores of Lake Nakuru. All meals served followed by overnight at campsite/budget hotel.
Day 2: Lake Nakuru/Lake Bogoria/Lake Baringo
After breakfast continue with your safari to Lake Bogoria where you will see the natural hot geyser's not forgetting the flamingos at the shores of Lake Bogoria. Later proceed to Lake Baringo, all meals served followed by dinner and overnight at campsite.
Day 3: Lake Baringo/Maralal/South Horr
After breakfast depart from Lake Baringo to Maralal with your picnic lunch en route. you will have a short walk in this beautiful town of Maralal before proceeding via Losiolo which is on the edge of the Great Rift Valley to Baragoi for dinner and overnight stay at South Horr campsite.
Day 4: South Horr/Lake Turkana
After breakfast depart from the campsite and proceed to Lake Turkana arriving in time for lunch at El – Molo campsite, which is on the shores of Lake Turkana. Rest of the day is spent at leisure by the Jade Sea. Dinner and over night stay in the campsite.
Day 5: Lake Turkana
After breakfast you will visit the El Molo village before returning to campsite in time for lunch. Afternoon spent on leisure with optional excursions followed by dinner and overnight at campsite.
Day 6: Turkana/Maralal
After breakfast depart from Lake Turkana for Maralal with a picnic lunch en route. Dinner and overnight in Maralal campsite.
Day 7: Maralal
After breakfast drive to Suguta Valley observation point and later descend to the bottom of the valley where you will trek with Samburu guides to visit their villages and the surrounding environs then return to campsite for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Maralal/Samburu
After breakfast depart for Samburu National Reserve where you will arrive in time for lunch at Campsite followed by afternoon game drive in search of Beisa’s Oryx, Gerenuk, Grevy’s Zebra, Lion, Reticulated Giraffe, elephant not forgetting different species of birds then return to campsite to wait for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Samburu
Early morning game drive followed by breakfast. Optional visit to Samburu cultural village or game drive followed by lunch. Late afternoon proceed for another game drive then return to campsite to wait for dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Samburu/Nairobi
After breakfast depart for Isiolo and continue with your journey to Nanyuki with a stop over at the Equator and proceed to Nairobi where you will arrive late afternoon.
